As you can see below, the carefully developed sense of reality only works from close up. This elephant (left) looks in place. Oriental red carpet,  vases and dark wood furniture behind it. 

The little marble table (lower left) has a brass box and brass dominoes on it. A goblet and piece of pie, fork on plate, create the illusion that the player - snacker has just stepped out for a second. 


But pull back (below) and you'll see the larger perspective - and the shock of seeing real humans -  in this oriental themed set of rooms.
